Who we are
Vallou CPA, PC and Vallou, Inc. provide professional services under the Vallou name. See Legal for details on each entity.
Scope
This notice describes information collected through vallou.com, including the Book a call form and newsletter signup.
Once you are a client, information you provide is also covered by professional confidentiality standards, the Master Services Agreement, and the applicable Statement of Work. Those documents govern the engagement. This notice describes the website and how we handle inquiries.
Information we collect
If you book a call, send a message, or subscribe to updates, we may collect your name, email address, company, title, location, the type of inquiry, and the content of your message.
We also receive technical information that a browser or server ordinarily provides, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the date and time of the visit.
After an engagement begins, clients may provide additional information through a portal or in response to a document request. That information is handled under the engagement and under professional confidentiality obligations.
How we use information
We use information to:
- respond to inquiries
- perform services once an engagement is in place
- operate and secure the website
- meet legal and professional obligations
- send limited marketing communications you have requested
We do not sell personal information
Vallou does not sell or rent identifiable client or visitor information.
We may use aggregated or de-identified data internally for analytics and to improve the quality of our work. That data is not used to identify you.
How we share information
We share information with personnel, contractors, and technology vendors who need it to operate the site or to support an engagement. Those parties work under confidentiality and security obligations. The applications we use may include hosting, file transfer, communications, accounting platforms, and scheduling.
We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or professional obligation, to professional advisors, and as a signed Master Services Agreement already allows.
Confidentiality of nonpublic client information is maintained under professional standards and applicable law. The usual exceptions apply: disclosure required by law or subpoena, disclosure to advisors, and disclosure to personnel or vendors who need access to do the work.
Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to respond to an inquiry, to carry out an engagement, and to meet professional and legal recordkeeping requirements.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may ask what personal information we have collected about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and ask us not to sell or share it. Vallou does not sell personal information.
Email contact@vallou.com to make a request. Please describe what you are asking us to do. We verify requests before we act on them. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
